All you need to knows
Do I need a passport or visa?
A: Yes, U.S. citizens need a valid passport to enter Mexico. A visa is not required for tourism stays under 180 days.
When should I book my flights?
A: We recommend booking your flight at least 6–8 weeks in advance, as February is a popular travel season for Mexico City.
What is the weather like in February?
A: Expect warm, sunny days (mid 70s °F) and cool evenings. Layers are key, and you may want a jacket or wrap at night.
Should I exchange currency before I arrive?
A: You can exchange money at the airport or use ATMs in Mexico City. Most places accept credit cards and apple pay but some smaller vendors prefer pesos. We personally like to have pesos on us to tip folks and for the markets and when shopping arond the city!
Is there someone I can contact if I have any other questions about the wedding?
A. Yes please email us! Demeryweeks@gmail.com
Will my phone work in Mexico?
A: Most U.S. carriers offer international plans or include Mexico in their coverage. Check with your provider before your trip.
Is the tap water safe to drink?
A: No, we recommend drinking bottled or filtered water only. Most hotels provide this in-room.
Can we bring our Children?
A: While we adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We want this weekend to feel like a getaway where you can relax, celebrate, and dance the night away without worry. We truly appreciate you making arrangements so you can join us—it means the world to have you there!
Is Mexico City safe?
A: Yes — Mexico City is a vibrant, cosmopolitan destination that is very safe for travelers, especially in the neighborhoods where you'll be staying and celebrating. These areas are well-traveled by locals and visitors alike, filled with cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants, and are considered some of the safest in the city.
Mexico City also has a strong police presence, particularly in tourist areas, and people are generally friendly, helpful, and welcoming to visitors. We’ve personally traveled here many times and feel totally at ease — it’s one of our favorite cities in the world, and we’re so excited for you to experience it too.
